UPCOMING EVENTS

  • RSB Gumbo Cookoff at LA Homebrew – Dec 4th from 5pm till. Judging starts at 6pm. Gumbo type is open but label the type of meat and any possible allergens. You must use at least one 12 oz bottle of beer (homebrew preferred). Club will provide bowls, utensils, and rice. Bring your gumbo in a crockpot to plug it in. Voting will be people’s choice.

  2. Next year focused on increasing judge pool, competition and festival participation, and club members. Will try to help in those areas where there is interest.
  3. (Board discussion?) Can drop the web meetings, or choose to invite brewers, experts, etc. into meeting to discuss topics

  • N/A – Bottle Exchange Instead – Second copy of each ticket will be placed in an envelope and pulled at random. Person called can come up and grab any beer they like. All beers should be labelled to indicate style and any possible allergens.

About Kevin Cowan

Kevin Cowan is a craft beer enthusiast who specializes in customer service, logistics and results. Kevin was born in Forrest City, Arkansas, but is a long-time resident of the Greater Baton Rouge area. He graduated from Denham Springs High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University. During his 28-year military career, Kevin earned numerous qualifications, to include Journalist, Combat Medical Specialist, Public Affairs Officer, Environmental Officer and Human Resources Officer. Through education, training and experience, Kevin developed a keen ability to approach any situation and produce winning results. Familiarization with and excelling in numerous career fields has allowed Kevin to become flexible; a keen ability to meet any challenge or development. Kevin’s passion for craft beer spiked when he was hired to run the warehouse for Tin Roof Brewing Company in 2012. That passion has grown over the years and now he spreads that passion by providing top-notch customer service as General Manager for Keg Solutions. In his spare time, Kevin is an award-winning homebrewer and serves on the board of directors for RedStick Brewmasters, Baton Rouge’s oldest and most decorated homebrew club. He currently lives in Baton Rouge with his wife, Veronica and their Cocker Spaniel, Lil’ Man and their Chi-Weenie, Hershey Nugget.
